Convert trickster to madass wiring

Postby redhotscooter » 14 Mar 2011 18:50

Creg, i need you or some one in the army to check their madass and tell me the color and position of the wires in the plugs for both the cdi and voltage regulator. i'm changing the trickster wiring over to a madass wiring to be assured of parts and help if i need it later. i have the wire diagram for the 125 madass so i can trace the wires, but need to know where in a plug the wires will be seen. thanks in advance to anyone who helps. k

Regulator:

Can't help with the CDI, but if you are using the stock CDI it is just one bullet connector from the pulse generator.

CDI Schematic for the stock Madass 125cc

Blue/White wire is the Pick Up Coils ground pulse to Cdi unit {informs Cdi unit of "fire point"
Green/White wire is the ground for the Cdi unit {is manipulated by that stupid kick stand switch -- Can be bi-passed}
Black wire is the power to the Cdi unit {controlled by the key switch}
Black/Yellow wire is to the Ign Coil {sends a power pulse from Cdi unit to ign coil}

Let me know if you need the pin location
Yeah -- OK -- So I may have a huge plastic head -- So What

Hey stewped

I think redhotscooter is after the position of the wires in the given connectors.

If so redhotscooter my first photo is of the regulator connector. This shows the 6 wires from the reg which you can match up with the wiring diagram available elsewhere on this site.

HaHaHa -- lol too funny -- You know milwaukee -- I really wish that was me -- Although the Madass gets alot of attention -- The only attention it gets is from other guys -- I have never had some hot looking chick roll up to me and ask for ride -- Like the picture alteration though -- Just too funny :text-+1:

Hey There Badass -- I was talking to him last night on the chat and the way he explains the wiring is that he has a Full Wave Stator and not a 3 Phase Stator -- Because of the wiring and diode pattern of the rectifier he will need to replace both the stator and the rectifier if he wants to change over to a 3 phase system -- He should beable to keep the Cdi unit as long as the Cdi unit is a 4 Pin DC Cdi unit.

Ah hah.
He had a confusing initial post. More detail is needed, it doesn't sound like redscoot is changing to a full MA wiring at all!

Sorry I might of wrote that wrong above -- No -- I think he does want to convert his Trickster into the Madass electrical system -- However the system he has now {or wants to change} appears to be a Full Wave Stator and Rectifier instead of the 3 Phase Madass system -- So the some of the wiring will be different -- He will have to change the stator and rectifier and not just the wire harness. If he has 4 pin DC Cdi unit this should be ok -- If he has a 5 pin DC Cdi unit I think the 5th pin is just for a rev limiter and the 5th pin can just be left vacant providing the ign advance preset in the Cdi is compatible -- So I kinda wrote that wrong before
