Problem with my Sachs madass 125, Help Needed!!!

Postby goranremnant123 » 08 Dec 2014 09:38

I recently changed the transmission on my Sachs Madass 125 after sitting for almost 3 years, did all the stuff for bikes that were not driven for a long time, cleaned up the carb, put fresh gasoline, there is a spark, the valves are set to factory specs as per the manual but it just wont work as it should, it keeps bogging and when throttle is past 1/4 it sounds like its on rev limiter, so I thought that someone in this army of madass lovers would know what is the problem... video shows the problem

First thing I would do is unscrew the top off the carb, pull that throttle cable mechanism out, and reinsert it to make sure it isn't improperly seated.

If that doesn't fix things, next I'd check and make sure there isn't something blocking the hole in the main jet. The pilot jet is obviously fine.

the carb is fine, i did cleaned it twice, in case i missed something the first time, i blowed all the passages in it with an air compressor and everything else got also checked. Can this be spark related ? Although i have a spark, can it be losing it somewhere along the frame of the bike on those high revs ?

It could very well be the spark plug itself. I bought a bad one once that caused the engine to stall at high revs.

Check if the gas is flowing freely thru the hose
Adjust the carb piston needle. There is five slots for the needle clip,
start in the midle position,
Check the gas level in the carb bowl.
The issue is in the carb, you can test spraying some gas in
the carb air inlet the revs should increase up

Engines that run proper and sound like yours have the choke left closed. Also when you had the needle outta the slide and reinstalled.....did you place the needle into the top of the slide or drop the slide on top of the needle? Engine will react the same as yours if you got it wrong, the needle is not rising with the slide.
Tall is cool....Small is cool!
