Postby passatvw » 28 Aug 2014 17:23

Hello,

does any of you tried to convert from old type(before facelift) rear brake to new new type (after facelift)?
I've bought the hydraulic brake set from the after facelift MA.
Only I have one problem, i can't place de brake piston on my (pre facelift) MA.

So can some one tell me how you did it, or can any of you help me?

The Madass engine plate has 2 tabs that stick about 1/2" off of the engine plate itself. These tabs have a drilled and tapped metric hole on each. The master cylinder mounts on top of these tabs.

You could get by drilling and tapping directly into the engine plate with the correct hole spacing from the master cylinder. You will want to use a 1/2" long bushing with an appropriate ID and OD to hold the master cylinder away from the engine plate to maintain alignment.

I can try and get pictures and measurements if need be. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Because no reactions of what so ever, my colleague started the make some kind of plate.
He mounted the piston on the plate, and this plate is installed under two bolts on the engine block.

The brake pedal is connected by a ball joint to the piston.

and now I can fully brake.

thanks for your attention.
