Moto-Scoot Shipping?

Postby toddbumpa » 15 Mar 2010 21:15

Anyone else have issues with shipping from them? I ordered a 88cc Kit, Asspipe, and Tune up kit from them on the 5th....I emailed Andy last week and he said he shipped it, and he would refund part of the shipping and throw in a set of bars which is awesome, but I'm only in Seattle. Do they ride their personal MadAss to deliver it? :(

Do you know how it's being shipped? UPS or Fed Ex ground?

It's not that unusual for UPS ground to take about 7 to ten days. I'd check back with them for by Wednesday if you don't get it by then or at least try and get a tracking number. The guys at MS are pretty cool and upfront about things.

I think it is pretty much just Bill and Andy there at Moto-Scoot. Bill does bike sales and is all about marketing and getting stuff out. If you order a bike it will arrive in no time. Now Andy is the mechanic and he also takes care of the parts side of the business. He's generally busy fixing bikes and scooters. Email responses and getting items shipped out will generally be a bit slow. If you don't get a response from an email it doesn't hurt to give him a call. Generally, if he has the items in stock, they'll be shipped out within a week. It's not like ordering from Motorcycle Superstore for instance where their entire business is selling parts. The bonuses of ordering from Andy though are one, you are supporting a MadAss dealership and service center, and two, if you have questions about installing what you ordered on your bike, Andy is going to be able to answer those questions because he's totally familiar with the MadAss, and has put that part on the bike probably several times already.

I just took my bike in for it's first tune-up to a local mechanic. I gave them my jets and told them if they thought it needed any tweaking to feel free to do so. I had the tuning pretty well set, but I figured they might be able to fine tune it. It was actually worse when I got it back. I attribute this mostly to them just not being familiar with the bike. It's good to have an invested connection with folks that are familiar with it.

Getting an email of a tracking number when a part is sent out would be awesome though. I'll probably mention this to Andy the next time I order something from him. The other thing I'd like to see on their shopping cart is brand names and specs for the products. It's difficult for me to pay for an item that costs more than $30 without knowing who the heck made it. I like to read reviews and compare specs on things before I buy them.

Thanks for the input. All of what you mentioned are the reason I chose to order from them. I guess I figured that UPS Ground from Milwaukee to Seattle wouldn't take so long. (I'm eager to get my bike moving!) I'm 100% sure I'll be happy with the parts. And like I said, Andy was real cool and gave me a set of flat bars....He also mentioned that he is indeed working on the shipping process they use.....

Both Bill and Andy are cool guys and they've always taken the time to check things out when ever I've had a question about something. They know their stuff and how to deal with the MA and at the same time they're not pretentious or cliquey. It is a small shop compared to some other joints and in general it's a more laid back atmosphere then most, but that's what I like about it and not to mention I get to see Riley (Bill's dog) when I'm there.

I tend to mention them here on the forum only because I'm local to where they are and they've treated me squarely from day one. That's not to say that other places out there are the same though, it's just that I haven't dealt with anyone else so far.

Hopefully you get your kit soon! :D

Wow. I'm really beginning to get frustrated now. When I spoke to Andy last week, he said that the pipe and tuning kit were shipped on the 5th. Well they arrived yesterday. I checked the tracking info on the box, and it turns out it was shipped on the 10th! This makes me wonder when I'll see my Bore kit since Andy claimed it shipped on the 9th.

I'm sorry, but this is just bad customer service.

Just be happy you had plates right off the bat. I had to wait for the State to issue me plates which had me riding my MA in my neighborhood for 2 1/2 weeks while Washington State DMV stuck their thumbs up their asses.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with Moto-Scoot. Bill and Andy shipped me my bike promptly.

I got my temp plates cause i bought from a wa dealer. Took about a week for the real ones. Only reason im so upset is that my bike is sitting here with the top end off, waiting for its new parts....I took it apart so I would just be able to bolt the new stuff on when it came. When Andy told me it shipped on the 9th, I figured it would be here on the 18th at the latest...... :(

I had a bike shipped from them over two months ago and it is still not running. It came damaged and without some options I ordered. It is now in a local shop and the owner, who now sells MadAsses, was not happy with Moto-Scoots lack of prep. Bill of Moto-Scoot told me, when I ordered and asked about prep and assembly, that it took four bolts and less than five minutes. I hope to get the bike back this week and can add further info to this story. I have had better luck buying used bikes on Ebay.

ups is the bastard of shipping woes. In canada when we accept parcels from the u.s. we usually are asked to pay a further 90% of the maked value as 'brokerage' fees and are threatened with 'up to four hours in the customs office if you try to do it yourself' when in reality if i make the drive and broker my own parcels it takes less then five minutes and usually a pittance for a fee. Only ups gives us this kind of grief, parhaps this is your problem? dealing with an obviously corrupt company?

Hi!
I'm new to this forum. I come from Austria / Europe and of course I have a MadAss.
I love the look of the AssPipe from Moto-Scoot, so i ordered the Stage 1 - Set over 1 month ago. I payed by PayPal and didn't get anything. After writing a mail to Moto-Scoot (no answer) i got the Money returned by PayPal. I wrote a second Mail to Moto-Scoot and asked again, why they didn't send the Set, but no answer again...

So I wanted to ask, if you know an other Shop to purchase the AssPipe, or anyone else selling me a new/used one???

Thx, Paxn

i had the 142 kit from moto-scoot ordered over two weeks ago. when it arrived at the shop (much later than it should have) it was missing two key components. 1, the intake man. 2, the Camshaft. they said they were express shipped so they would be down 2 days later... they were not, and we were giving some lame excuse. 2more days later the missing components finally arrived and we were able to get the project started. I thank my lucky stars that the guys at Scoot know what they are doing.
im gonna go fast on my madass

I'm also not very happy with Moto-Scoot. I ordered a cargo rack July 8th from them. I called after a couple weeks of it being a no show. They told me that they had to scrap all of them because the bushings where wielded in the wrong spots. Now 2 months later I have to call back and spoke to Bill on the phone. He asked me to call back on Tuesday because I needed to speak to Andy.

I understand they are a small shop but with MA modes becoming so popular around the US they might want to hire a few more people.
